Poetry and Haiku

coffee ringby Minta Davis (bio after poetry)

Coffee to Wake

It was quiet, a sudden jolt caused movement at every corner.
In each direction feel the pull by an imaginary string.
Can the time of day be judged, daytime and nighttime without a border
Not later rather than sooner, coffee is ready as time always bring.
Like music notes off the page, who would know that a note won’t ping.
The rapid pace flows through the air, as does the smell of the Aroma.
How much wasted time, not seeing the big picture, a bell will ring.
One sip will end this saga before it puts you in a coma.

Follow the smell through the hallway, reminding you of the trip to Rome.
Where the notion to live and let live enabled everyone to enjoy great feelings.
Life appears harder without coffee to wake, so why moan?
Jump for joy when more coffee comes and touch the ceiling.

Therefore, a thought of not having coffee to settle the day is aghast.
Always ensure that there is plenty on hand and within your grasp.

Sneeze to Hold

Allergy won’t stop,
lift the spirit when I hear,
Coffee is Ready.

The Lady’s Flavor

I’m flavor lady
who can’t get enough coffee
its strawberry fun.

The Love of It

For the love of it,
its not enough to savor,
the romas that sing.

About Minta Davis

I am a native of Washington, DC and currently reside in Maryland. It was through my graduate studies at Regis University that I discovered my passion for writing. I recently became a member in the International Library of Poets and International Society of Poets. I have received offers to publish several poems in various anthologies and journals. I have a great appreciation for the people who make this artistry successful and share in the commonalty from around the world. I am very grateful to Linda Goin, for welcoming me into the family of outstanding poets and coffee lovers.
