Truth is stranger than…

Well, it’s a new year, but bad habits still linger. Another coffee-thrower was located in Cookeville, Alabama, when woman was arrested there last Wednesday after allegedly throwing hot coffee on a man and then grabbing a knife and lunging at a woman at a popular downtown coffee house, police said. It happened just after 3 p.m. on Jan. 3 at the Poets coffee restaurant on E. Broad St., and the woman has a history of “mental problems.” Read more at the Herald-Citizen.

Ok - this is beyond strange: In Minnesota you can purchase a $10 8 ounce cup of Kopi Luwak. What is this you ask? It’s a coffee brewed from an Indonesian bean that is first eaten by a Civet Cat. Once the cat “processes” the bean, the farmers collect the er…remnants. According to the news article, “Those brave enough to shell out the dough and take a sip say the coffee is full bodied and rich with a chocolaty taste.” Yum.
